All hail the air conditioning gods.

July was an amazing month! We’ve been out in New York City parks organizing picnics all month long and we’ve had a ball. Sure, the humidity levels are verging on “unbearable”, but that seems a small price to pay to live in the greatest city on earth.

First things first, we were featured in some amazing news outlets! So yeah, we should be ready for world domination any day now. In case you missed them, you can check them out in TimeOUT, Am New York, and The Daily Meal. Kindly email autograph requests to our co-founders.

We are super excited to have added scrumptious new dessert options for your sweet picnic tooth! You can check them all out in our dessert menu – here’s the skinny:

Boozy Party Treats by Spoonable Spirits: that’s right – these are fresh and delicious boozy puddings and jellies served in festive mini mason jars. And yes, they are locally made in NYC. What are you waiting for? Time to get the party started!

Cakes by The Harlem Pie Man: cheesecake, anyone? Carrot cake? We got you covered. These decadent and mouthwatering cakes are perfect for any celebration – or a simple sweet Sunday afternoon. Made locally and with lots of love in NYC.

Pies by The Harlem Pie Man: guys, there’s a reason why he’s called The Harlem Pie Man. Flaky, buttery, where-have-these-pies-been-my-whole-life goodness! There is something about this hand-rolled pie crust - you can truly taste the soul & passion of the Harlem Pie Man!

By the way, if you’re feeling guilty about any and all sweet calories you might have guzzled down thanks to our new dessert partners, Upicnic started a Yoga class series that will have you back in shape in no time. Thank you so much for everybody that participated in our Keep Calm and Yoga On event! We held our first class in a hidden spot deep inside Central Park – a peaceful, tranquil oasis where body and mind truly came together to relax and isolate from the hustle and bustle of every day New York. Missed it? You can check out our live footage here.

Looking for other creative ways to work out? Well, we don’t want to be too obvious, but Pokémon Go offers a brilliant exercise solution for those of us who are, let’s say, gym-challenged. You can walk around outdoors, enjoy New York City parks, and catch so many Pokémon! Yes, I realize that might sound somewhat juvenile to some of you, but if there isn’t space in your heart for Pikachu and Jiggly Puff, then you might need Dorothy’s help to fill your hollow tin chest. Oh, and by the way, we are organizing a Pokémon Go-themed picnic event for August, so stay tuned!

And last but not least, our Kids Menu is now available on our website! Did you hear that? That was the sound of every New York City mom and dad rejoicing because they don’t have to pack food for their toddlers, kindergarteners, and kids of all ages anymore. NYC parents can now venture into the park with confidence, knowing that not only we have chef-made food for their picnicking pleasure, but now we also have super simple, 100% customizable (and delicious!) food options for their kids too: from jelly sandwiches, to bagels, to cheddar sandwiches with ham or turkey, and even Nutella pinwheels with strawberries or banana. Life is sweet, ain’t it?

And if you want to check out how darn cute our co-founders are in real life, Upicnic’s video is now live on Yelp! And while you are there, you are welcome to leave us mind-blowing reviews, so that everybody else on the planet will also know how much we rock. (Let me put your mind at ease – we did take a modesty class, it didn’t work. Upicnic rules).

July was an incredible month, filled with fun, laughter, and lots and lots of picnic experiences: from birthday parties, to corporate events, to romantic tête–à–têtes – and even proposal picnics! (spoiler: they all said yes).

We are looking forward to bringing even more epic picnic packages throughout New York City in August, though we are dreading the monster heat wave that’s about to hit Gotham. Stay hydrated, put on lots of sunscreen, use those hats, and as always, go picnic!
