What a ball we had in June! Picnic season is officially in full bloom, the weather has been super spot-on, humidity levels have kept at bay, and New York Parks have started to get seriously crowded over the weekends.

June started out with an amazing cover story in Metro US – thank you so much to the editors that made this happen! Our very own Marta Antonelli was interviewed and we couldn’t be prouder.

We were super fortunate to be asked to participate and exhibit at the inaugural iteration of Food Loves Tech in NYC, and we had an amazing time giving out shortbread cookies (thanks Kanpekies!), playing cornhole and Giant Jenga with the crowd, and generally making so many new friends in the food & tech space.  For those of you who are playing catch-up, you can read all about industry trends and Food Loves Tech here.

We successfully kicked off our new Save Me a Seat service at the New York Philharmonic in the Great Lawn, and while we can't extend that same service to Bryant Park movie nights, we deliver to the park for all those brave souls who will be there at 5 o'clock when the lawn opens: you can order blankets, food, drinks and passtimes (cue Uno, cue Cards Against Humanity) – and if you have ever tried the free “popcorn” that BofA gives out, you know just how essential actual food might be to your survival.

Thanks again to all of you who came to our International Picnic Day Fiesta in Sheep Meadow on June 18th! It was so amazing to see all of you and enjoy an afternoon picnic eating, playing and laughing with all our favorite people. In case you missed it, or want to relive the excitement, the wonderful ladies at Twinspirational wrote an amazing blog post about it – thanks for all the love and the amazing pictures!

On top of all this awesomeness, Upicnic is now on Yelp! Show us your love and go write thousands of amazing reviews! Not to brag, but we only have 5-stars reviews so far, don’t break the streak!

Also, we are super excited to announce the start of two new Upicnic blog series written by two amazing ladies: Kate Blasco is contributing to our “Best NYC Picnic Spots” series with weekly updates of all the best spots this city has to offer; and if you think you know Central Park, think again: because Kate will share unique info, anecdotes and tips that only first-hand experience can provide. The other blog series is spearheaded by the amazing Nicole Winograd: she will be updating us all on everything cool going on in NYC on a weekly basis. As part of her “NYC Events” series she will be sharing tips, tricks, useful links, and generally showing us the in-n-outs of everything going on in and around New York City Parks.

June was an amazing month, and it perfectly kicked-off the height of picnic season in New York. We are so happy for all the great events scheduled for the coming month, and can’t wait to celebrate the 4th of July with a veritable cornucopia of picnics all over the city.

Let’s all rejoice that the season of days at the beach, sunburns, summer love, and messy hair is finally here - can’t wait to spread the picnic joy all around town!
