May has been an amazing Month, though the weather has been a bit wishy-washy, we are super excited that it’s been well above the 70s for at least a week now – plus Memorial Day Weekend has seen an amazing picnic turnout, so “bravo!” to all of you who opted for a staycation and enjoyed New York City’s parks with a well-deserved picnic.

You might have caught us at TechCrunch Disrupt – for those who missed it, you can catch up here – our very own Marta Antonelli was interviewed by Fitz Tepper in Startup Alley, and if we may say so, she rocked it. Plus, we met with so many fun new startups, brilliant entrepreneurs, and quite a few possible new partners that promise you’ll have even more exciting picnics soon!

Among other things, we have also launched a new service called Save Me a Seat – wondering what that’s about? Well, my dear friends, it’s very simple: you can buy a save me a seat package for the New York Philharmonic in the Great Lawn on June 15th & 16th – which means we will go with our blankets and save you as many seats as you need. You can also add food and drinks to your package if you’d like… or not. Up to you. But at least you won’t have the stress of having to get off work early and fight the crowd to be able to get a prime seat. You’re welcome.

As if that wasn’t enough, we also revamped our weekly Picnic & Chill newsletter – that’s now the only email you’ll have to read to make plans every weekend. It includes weather reports, so you know when it’s the right time to hit the park; events and cool stuff happening around NYC, so you are always in-the-know; plus, tips and suggestions on the best picnic spots, weekly spotlights on new games, and so much more!

Btw, thanks to NYU Radio for featuring us in their TechCrunch Disrupt recap! ( we’re at the 28:50 mark) It was a blast meeting you guys at TechCrunch, and we are so looking forward to be organizing picnic events with you!

All in all, May was a super busy month of event planning, conferences, new partners and so many picnics! We are super excited for all the great events in the pipeline, and can’t wait to see how they all turn out. I’ll give you one extra spoiler: for those of you looking to posh up your picnic game over the summer, we will be partnering with Gilt City over the upcoming weeks to bring you even more epic picnics!

Let’s all rejoice that the season of sunscreen, flipflops and eeny-winy tiny bikinis is finally here! Memorial Day weekend marked the opening of all beaches and city pools, so major fun time is about to go down. Can’t wait to spread the picnic joy all around town!
