The Case for Winter Picnics

As it turns out, having picnics indoor during the winter has become the cool thing to do while Mother Nature keeps piling up inches of snow at your doorstep. Mostly because – and I say this with love – nobody in their right mind wants to go picnicking in this frozen, godforsaken city on snow-covered ground.

Picnics are, and forever will be, an occasion to have fun, relax, lie back, and enjoy a quick bite with the people you like. So who says you can’t enjoy the perks of a summer picnic while appreciating the glory of winter wonderland barricaded safely in your own apartment?

Enter Upicnic: not to brag, but as you may have noticed we are big picnic enthusiasts; and no, we weren’t going to stop having picnics just because it got cold outside. Instead, we pushed all our furniture aside, laid our picnic blankets on the floor, et voila’: indoor picnics for all.

The best part? Indoor picnics seamlessly but efficiently succeed at demystifying Winter – and thanks to Upicnic, they bring convivial Summer vibes in your home without you needing to lift a finger.

Fact: the average Manhattan apartment is about a billion degrees on any average winter day; add some friends, yummy sandwiches and a UNO tournament and that’s about all you can ask of an epic picnic. If you also throw your giant flat screen TV in the mix for extra bonus points, you can even host Superbowl Sunday Picnics or, say, Game of Thrones marathon picnics.

As always, Upicnic will bring you blankets, food, drinks, and any games you’d like – or sports gear, if you’re into destroying the trinkets on your shelves.
